劉文西，1933年出生于浙江省嵊州。現(xiàn)任中國(guó)美術(shù)協(xié)會(huì)顧問(wèn)，陜西省文藝界聯(lián)合會(huì)顧問(wèn)，陜西省美協(xié)副主席，西安美術(shù)學(xué)院名譽(yù)院長(zhǎng)，西安美院研究院院長(zhǎng)，全國(guó)有突出貢獻(xiàn)的專家。曾任全國(guó)文藝界聯(lián)合會(huì)委員，中國(guó)美術(shù)協(xié)會(huì)副主席，中國(guó)畫(huà)藝委員會(huì)委員，歷屆全國(guó)美展中國(guó)畫(huà)評(píng)委會(huì)委員，全國(guó)首批百位名師稱號(hào)獲得者。他的作品在幾十個(gè)國(guó)家和地區(qū)展出，并多次與夫人陳光健在國(guó)內(nèi)各地舉辦二人畫(huà)展，重要作品有《毛主席和牧羊人》、《東方》、《解放區(qū)的天》和巨幅系列長(zhǎng)卷《黃土人》等近百幅。人民幣上的毛澤東畫(huà)像即為劉文西所作。
Liu Wenxi was born in Shengzhou, Zhejiang Province in 1933, China.Currently, he is a consultant of China Fine Arts Association, consultant of Shaanxi Federation of Literature and Art, vice chairman of Shaanxi Artists Association, honorary president of Xi 'an Academy of Fine Arts, president of Xi' an Academy of Fine Arts, and a national expert with outstanding contributions.He served to be a member of the National Federation of Literary and Art, vice chairman of the Chinese Art Association, member of the Chinese Painting Art Committee, member of the Chinese Painting jury of the National Art Exhibition, and the winner of the first 100 famous teachers in China.His works have been exhibited in dozens of countries and regions, and they have held two painting exhibitions with his wife Chen Guangjian for many times. Nearly 100 important works include Chairman Mao and the Shepherd, The East, Heaven in the Liberated Zone and a large long series, The Loess Man.The portrait of Mao Zedong on the RMB was made by Liu Wenxi.
此幅畫(huà)長(zhǎng)：136.6cm，寬：69cm畫(huà)中老農(nóng)形象多用焦墨干皴皺紋，染以淡墨表現(xiàn)結(jié)構(gòu)，最后賦彩潤(rùn)色之，色墨結(jié)合恰到好處。劉文西的人物畫(huà)與一般國(guó)畫(huà)“人物”大不相同，有的表現(xiàn)了對(duì)正義，對(duì)真理，對(duì)真情，對(duì)光明幸福的憧憬；有的是對(duì)勞動(dòng)者創(chuàng)造世界的熱情謳歌。
