黃釉瓷在古陶瓷藝術中占有很重要的位置，黃色一向是帝王專用色，黃釉瓷器更是明清宮廷用瓷，絕不許民間使用。

明代以前的低溫黃秞多數為黃褐色或深黃色，不是真正的黃色。傳世的黃釉瓷器以宣德制品為最早，傳世器大多為盤，器物內外皆施黃秞，釉色嬌嫩，釉面肥潤，通體無紋。

弘治、正德時期的黃秞達到歷史最高水平，器物色調均勻一致，釉面平整無痕，色澤滋潤嬌嫩，且光澤度較好，恰似雞油，是真正的黃色。因其施釉時是將釉料直接澆在白釉瓷器上或素胎上，釉層不易剝落，故名“澆黃”。由于其色調較淡，顯得嬌艷，又稱為“嬌黃”。

此黃釉暗刻龍紋杯，口徑63㎜,足徑25㎜,高49㎜,重40克。撇口，深弧腹，圈足。器形穩重，內外壁遍施低溫黃釉，釉層勻凈，色澤嬌艷。內壁暗刻龍紋，雙龍張牙舞爪，氣勢威武，刻工流暢，形象生動，釉水明亮勻凈，碗底心青花書“大明成化年制”六字雙行款。黃釉瓷以弘治與雍正兩朝居多，成化年間黃釉瓷甚為罕見，此黃釉暗刻龍紋碗，保存完好，品相精致，具有極高的收藏價值！
