釉里紅是我國(guó)的傳統(tǒng)釉下彩裝飾之一，它是用銅作著色劑的色料在坯體上描繪各種紋樣，然后施透明釉經(jīng)過(guò)高溫還原氣氛燒成，在釉里透出紅色的紋樣，故稱(chēng)“釉里紅”。 因燒成合格品很困難，故其產(chǎn)品極為名貴。
Under-glaze red is one of the traditional under-glaze decoration in China. 釉里紅有單獨(dú)裝飾的，但大多數(shù)與青花相結(jié)合在一起進(jìn)行裝飾而稱(chēng)為“青花釉里紅”。其特點(diǎn)既有青花的“幽靚雅到致，沉靜安定”的特色，又增添了釉里紅的渾厚壯麗，豐富了色彩效果，形成了高雅而又樸實(shí)的藝術(shù)風(fēng)格。因此，青花釉里紅瓷成為我國(guó)珍貴的品種之一。

釉里紅顏料只有涂布達(dá)到一定厚度才能呈紅色，而且一旦呈色，顏色都比較濃，因此它不能產(chǎn)生顏色深淺的層次變化。青花的呈色，類(lèi)似于水墨畫(huà)，隨著顏料涂布厚度的變化，可以產(chǎn)生由淡到濃的各種顏色效果。因此，青花彌補(bǔ)了釉里紅呈色層次變化的不足，而釉里紅則豐富了青花瓷的色彩。
In-glaze red pigment can be red only when it is coated to a certain thickness, and once it is colored, the color is relatively thick, so it can not produce hierarchical changes in color depth. The color rendering of blue and white is similar to ink painting. With the change of pigment coating thickness, it can produce various color effects from light to thick. Therefore, blue and white make up for the deficiency of the color level change of underglaze red, while underglaze red enriches the color of blue and white porcelain.
