豬寶是豬膽結(jié)石的俗稱，《唐本草》最早記載稱為野豬黃，為豬科動(dòng)物野豬膽囊中的結(jié)石，味辛、甘、平、無(wú)毒。豬砂研究報(bào)告指出：豬寶是一種名貴緊缺中藥材，其形成時(shí)間較長(zhǎng)，而豬的飼養(yǎng)期又很短，很少能在豬體內(nèi)發(fā)現(xiàn)，但也有偶爾可見(jiàn)的。它的藥用功效，主要用于清熱、解毒、化痰、定驚。對(duì)人體有鎮(zhèn)靜作用。可治療心悸、失眠等癥。有豬寶的豬一般有禿毛，吃食少，體溫高，行走無(wú)力，軀體枯瘦，眼睛發(fā)紅，臥不安寧，嚎叫不止的特征。宰豬開(kāi)膛時(shí)，應(yīng)檢查膽囊、膽管、肝管有無(wú)硬塊。如有硬塊，立即刮剝?nèi)〕觯瑒兂掣街膬?nèi)膜等物，再用干凈棉花、絨線包扎好，防止破裂散落，然后掛在陰涼處讓其自然干燥，不可風(fēng)吹日曬以免影響質(zhì)量。
