雞缸杯是明成化斗彩杯之一，飲酒用具，造型為敞口，淺腹，臥足。因杯身以斗彩描繪線雞啄早哺雛，姿態栩栩如生，輔以牡丹、蘭花、柱石紋，故名。斗彩是明清彩瓷中的名品，成化時期有著輝煌的成就。“斗彩”以制瓷的工藝方法取名，是將釉上五彩和釉下青花相結合，形成釉上、釉下彩繪互相爭奇斗艷的藝術效果。

斗彩雞缸杯，是在直徑約八厘米的撇口臥足碗外壁上，先用青花細線淡描出紋飾的輪廓線后，上釉入窯經1300度左右的高溫燒成胎體，再用紅、綠、黃等色填滿預留的青花紋飾中二次入窯低溫焙燒。外壁以牡丹湖石和蘭草湖石將畫面分成兩組，一組繪雄雞昂首傲視，一雌雞與一小雞在啄食一蜈蚣，另有兩只小雞玩逐，另一組繪一雄雞引頸啼鳴，一雌雞與三小雞啄食一蜈蚣，畫面形象生動，情趣盎然.
