田黃石，簡(jiǎn)稱(chēng)“田黃”，因產(chǎn)于福州市壽山鄉(xiāng)“壽山溪”兩旁之水稻田底下、呈黃色而得名，為壽山石中最優(yōu)良的品種之一。它有廣義的和狹義的之分：廣義的田黃石指“田坑石”，狹義的田黃石指田坑石中之發(fā)黃色者。在物理性質(zhì)、工藝美術(shù)特征等方面，田黃石與壽山石基本相同或相近，但因其珍稀和昂貴，故早已成為獨(dú)立的印章石品種。
