銀元正面是一張翅雄鷹，嘴叼長(zhǎng)蛇（蛇尾與鷹翅相連），單腿立在仙人掌（國(guó)花）上，邊緣上方書(shū)西班牙文“REPUBLICAMEXICANA(墨西哥共和國(guó))”。背面主圖中央為一頂自由軟帽，帽周?chē)派溟L(zhǎng)短不一的32支光柱（代表全國(guó)31個(gè)州和1個(gè)聯(lián)邦區(qū)），自由帽頂部的3支光柱中間一支較短。自由帽下邊緣有11支光柱。邊緣下半方分別鑄有1個(gè)裝飾“五角星”“8R”（面值）、字母“H”、“1898”（鑄造年分）、字母“C·E”。 此幣品相完好，包漿厚重自然。因其含銀成色頗高，在眾多外貿(mào)銀元里獨(dú)樹(shù)一幟，市場(chǎng)占有率非常高，具有較高的收藏價(jià)值。
On the obverse of the silver dollar is a winged eagle with a long snake in its mouth (the tail of the snake is connected with the wings of the Eagle).
