四川是民國(guó)時(shí)期鑄造銅幣品種最多、數(shù)量最大、版式最繁、持續(xù)時(shí)間最長(zhǎng)的省份。軍政府造四川銅幣是辛亥革命時(shí)期的產(chǎn)物。1911年武昌起義之后，四川于11月27日宣布獨(dú)立，以一場(chǎng)鐵路紛爭(zhēng)為開端，四川這個(gè) 大清帝國(guó)人口最多的省份，終于宣布獨(dú)立，建立大漢四川軍政府。1911年12月發(fā)生“成都叛亂”，以尹昌衡、羅綸為正副都督的四川軍政府取代了建設(shè)僅12天的大漢四川軍政府。
