光緒帝載恬，同治十年（1871年8月14日）出生于北京宣武門太平湖畔醇王府，其父奕環是道光帝的第七子，其母是慈喜的胞妹，這種特殊的家庭環境，使他在同治病故之后被指定為皇帝，他在位34年，光緒十三年病死，終年38歲，廟號德宗，葬于河北易縣崇陵。
