貨泉是最常見的一種漢代錢幣，它是王莽天鳳元年(公元14年)第四次貨幣改制的產物。貨泉從天鳳元年起一直流通 到東漢光武帝建武十六年(公元40年)。材質為青銅，尚見有鐵質和銅夾鐵者，錢文為懸針篆，泉中豎筆斷開，(貨泉餅者字紋多平夷，鑄造粗劣)。王莽的幣制改革是失敗的，但莽錢制作精良，有"錢絕"之首，為后世所稱道。"貨幣"、"貨泉"堪稱是王莽后期鑄幣的代表作，是莽錢中較珍貴的品種，具有一定的歷史研究所值和收藏價值。
