正所謂入窯憑人，出窯憑天，在窯火的洗禮下，出窯的建盞或不盡人意，或驚艷世人，固每一只建盞在成功誕生后，還需進行一場挑選，有瑕疵的盞在進行分析后將進行銷毀處理，而成功的建盞便登記入庫，最后出現(xiàn)在市面上，被人們所欣賞。所以看了這么多步驟，我們會知道，建盞的步驟環(huán)環(huán)相扣，都是“一條繩上的螞蚱”，動一則動百，每一只建盞都來之不易，個中包含著匠人們每一步辛勤的汗水和窯外望穿秋水的等候與期待，而一只堪稱完美的建盞更是可遇而不可求，這才有了我們對建盞的包容之心。
荷花盞的胎土是鐵含量很高的鐵胎，這是能燒出各種不同斑紋的主要原因。建盞底胎特點是胎質厚重粗糙，顏色一般為深灰或者深褐色，輕輕敲打有類似金屬碰撞的聲音。特別值得一提的是，這樣的胎土只能取自福建省建陽水吉一帶，這也是為什么全世界喜歡研制建盞的陶藝家都要使用建陽水吉的胎土。
荷花盞，茶界稱它是“唯一為茶而誕生的茶器”，陶瓷界稱它為“土與火高難度結合得藝術”。表面上，建盞漆黑似無一物，但它不是真正的無，它那深邃莫測的空間，蘊藏著潤生萬物的基質。它可以變幻出耀斑，鷓鴣斑，褐斑等不同層次，形形色色的斑紋，又可以輕易地就將它們吞噬掉。它的美，隱藏在時光深處，此藏品極具有收藏價值！
