雙旗幣起源民國，1911年清帝退位后，中華民國宣布成立。中國民主主義革命的先驅(qū)者孫中山在頒布的“臨時(shí)大總統(tǒng)令”中提出要“另刊新模，鼓鑄紀(jì)念幣”隨后武昌和南京兩處造幣廠率先鑄行了中華民國開國紀(jì)念幣銅元輔幣，以十文面值的為主，在全國大量發(fā)行以取代清朝銅元。1914年，銅元正式改稱“銅幣”，民國發(fā)行的銅幣與清朝最大的區(qū)別是龍紋被換成了由稻穗組成的嘉禾紋。各省鑄造的銅元大多為兩面叉的國旗圖案，并有“開國紀(jì)念幣”或“中華民國銅幣”字樣河南省造雙旗幣，因稀少程度而出名，在錢幣保藏界以其存世量稀疏而遭到大家的珍愛，并且，還因?yàn)樗闹圃旆闯＞啥妒艽蠹业膶檺邸Ｔ谖覈y幣中，它是久享盛名的一種，也被列入我國近代機(jī)制幣10大珍。
