公元1911年11月27日，以一場(chǎng)鐵路紛爭(zhēng)為開(kāi)端，四川這個(gè)大清帝國(guó)人口最多的省份，終于宣布獨(dú)立，建立大漢四川軍政府。尹昌衡出任軍政部長(zhǎng)，被推為都督后，立即著手組織軍政府，由周駿任軍政部長(zhǎng)，其他各部門(mén)首腦由革命黨人與立憲派分子分任之。辛亥革命后，四川大漢軍政府于民國(guó)元年廢除龍紋大清銅幣模式．改鑄四川銅幣軍政府造“當(dāng)十”、“二十”和“當(dāng)五十”文三種面值的銅幣，正面為“四川銅幣”四字，中問(wèn)有一枚芙蓉花，有“軍政府造”，下邊為當(dāng)制錢(qián)若干文，反面中間有一圈，圈內(nèi)為篆文“漢”字，圈外還環(huán)繞有十八個(gè)小圈，代表十八個(gè)省，“漢”字代表大漢民族團(tuán)結(jié)一致。是中華民族政治，經(jīng)濟(jì)，文化，歷史的象征，它帶有辛亥革命那一時(shí)期鮮明的時(shí)代印記，見(jiàn)證了那一段波濤壯闊的革命歷史。小圈上有“中華民國(guó)元年”六字。民國(guó)2年(1913)，又添鑄“當(dāng)一百”和“當(dāng)二百”兩種銅元。
