吳東民，字美教，號(hào)半坡，1956年9月生，海南萬寧市人。現(xiàn)為中國書協(xié)副主席，中國書協(xié)評(píng)審委員會(huì)副主任、中國書協(xié)培訓(xùn)中心教授；海南省政協(xié)委員，海南省文聯(lián)副主席，海南省書法家協(xié)會(huì)主席，海南省書畫院院長，省優(yōu)專家，中國文聯(lián)、中國書協(xié)“德藝雙馨”藝術(shù)家。

大學(xué)期間專修美術(shù)，書法自幼臨池不輟。書法作品入選第五、六、七屆國展，第五、六、七屆中青展，首屆書法蘭亭獎(jiǎng)，第一、二、三屆楹聯(lián)展，首屆行草書展，首屆扇面書展；刻字作品入選每三、四、五屆全國刻字展，第二、三、四、五屆國際刻字藝術(shù)展；國畫作品入選全國首屆中國畫展，全國畫院雙年展。書畫作品多次參加全國性名家邀請展，另有20多件作品被中南海、毛主席紀(jì)念堂和各地博物館等文博機(jī)構(gòu)收藏；多次應(yīng)邀出訪美國、日本、韓國、新加坡以及港、澳、臺(tái)等國家和地區(qū)進(jìn)行交流，參展。主編《詹礪群書法作品集》、《海南省書畫院首屆書畫作品集》等10多部作品集，出版《吳東民書法作品集》、《吳東民繪畫作品集》。
