王守濂《中國稀見幣參考》一書認(rèn)為是民國元年；施嘉干《中國近代鑄幣考》、蔣仲川《中國金銀鎳幣圖說》、徐祖欽《中國錢幣目錄》等書認(rèn)為是民國四年；耿愛德（E﹒KANN）《中國幣圖說匯考》一書認(rèn)為唐繼堯正面像是民國五年，側(cè)面像是民國六年；

張惠信《中國貨幣史話目錄》一書認(rèn)為側(cè)面像是民國五年，正面像是民國八年；上海古籍出版社出版的《簡明錢幣辭典》則認(rèn)為兩者都是民國七年制造的。上述各家專著所言，或未引證，或引證不明。究其原因，主要在于史料缺乏。
