該書名為圣嘆手批中國預言七種又名中國兩千年之預言。由明末清初著名的文學家、文學批評家金圣嘆先生編纂而成書。
The title of the book is "Sheng Tan Shou Pi China Prophecy Seven Prophecies, also known as China's 2,000 Year Prophecy." It was compiled by Mr. Jin Shengtan, a famous writer and literary critic in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties.
由于書中預言中國朝代更替比較準確，搖搖欲墜的清朝政府將此書列為禁書，而民間流傳的《預言》是經過朝廷故意篡改，混淆視聽的。民國時期，愛國商人李中識先生為激勵國民，鼓舞士氣，將此書少量刊刻發至民間。原書中的預言后來也得到了印證：列強入侵，并無大礙，中華必勝?
