1973 年,民國三年鑄造的袁世凱銀幣有很多不同的版本,在正面的圖案是基本相同的, 但是在背面的圖案和一些細(xì)節(jié)方面還是有所不同的。袁大頭銀幣上有暗記有多種設(shè)置形式, 按其形態(tài)不同可分為英文字母暗記、圖形暗記、點珠暗記、內(nèi)齒暗記和彎芒暗記等。不少袁大頭銀幣上均同時采用上述幾種暗記形式。民國三年一九一四年。北洋軍閥政府正式鑄造袁世凱頭像銀幣。民國三年的“袁大頭”中,袁世凱“試鑄幣”尤為珍貴,包括天津造幣廠試鑄的意大利制版人的英文簽字版,以及袁世凱的左側(cè)面像后頸部位的簽字版。由于試鑄幣未曾正式流通使用,所以存世極少。
