在我國神話傳說中，道教中有八仙之說，分別是鐵拐李、漢鐘離、張果老、藍采和、何仙姑、呂洞賓、韓湘子、曹國舅。關(guān)于八仙的故事流傳甚廣，尤其是“八仙過海，各顯神通”的傳說幾乎家喻戶曉，膾炙人口。歷史上，很多文學(xué)、戲劇中融入了八仙的傳說，以八仙為素材的藝術(shù)作品亦層出不窮，陶瓷、繪畫、竹刻、刺繡、木雕以及文房器具上屢屢出現(xiàn)，賞心悅目，使八仙的故事得以綿延傳承并深入人心。

此大清乾隆年制八仙人物故事碗（一對），口徑為15cm，底徑為6.5cm，高8cm，碗內(nèi)外壁繪制八仙道教人物故事，大家都知道，八仙一般是指鐵拐李、漢鐘離、張果老、藍采和、何仙姑、呂洞賓、韓湘子、曹國舅八位神仙。傳說中，八仙各有不同的法器，鐵拐 李有鐵杖及葫蘆，漢鐘離有芭蕉扇，張果老有紙疊驢，藍采和有花籃，何仙姑有蓮花，呂洞賓有長劍，韓湘子有橫笛，曹國舅有玉板，他們隨身攜帶的法器各有妙用。碗底繪制有龍鳳，寓意龍鳳呈祥，在中國傳統(tǒng)觀念中，龍和鳳代表著吉祥如意，龍鳳一起使用多表示喜慶之事。
