1915年12月12日，袁世凱宣布接受帝位，復辟帝制，廢除共和政體，改中華民國為中華帝國，廢除民國紀年，改民國五年（公元1916年）為洪憲元年，史稱“洪憲帝制”。是年設計鑄造了袁世凱高纓像中華帝國洪憲紀元飛龍銀幣。該幣由意大利雕版師魯爾智·喬治雕模，天津造幣廠鑄造。銀幣的規格為庫平七錢二分，成色高，含銀量為90%。此幣設計具有明顯的帝王色彩，鑄工精美，傳世不多，較為珍貴。
On December 12, 1915, Yuan Shikai announced the acceptance of the throne, the restoration of the monarchy, the abolition of the Republican regime, the transformation of the Republic of China into the Chinese Empire, the abolition of the Republic of China, and the five years of the Republic of China (1916 A.D.) into the first year of Hong Xian, historically known as the "Hong Xian Monarchy". It was the year of design that coined Yuan Shikai's silver coin like Feilong in the Hongxian era of the Chinese Empire. The coin was carved by Italian engraver Rulzhi George and minted by Tianjin Mint. The specifications of silver coins are Kuping seven cents and two cents, with high fineness and 90% silver content. The design of this coin has obvious imperial color, exquisite foundry, few handed down and more precious.
