1948年，隨著人民解放戰(zhàn)爭的順利進(jìn)行，分散的各解放區(qū)迅速連成一片，為適應(yīng)形勢的發(fā)展，亟需一種統(tǒng)一的貨幣替代原來種類龐雜、折算不便的各解放區(qū)貨幣。為此， 1948年12月1日，在河北省石家莊市成立中國人民銀行，同日開始發(fā)行統(tǒng)一的人民幣。當(dāng)時任華北人民政府主席的董必武同志為該套人民幣題寫了中國人民銀行行名。
In 1948, with the smooth progress of the people's liberation war, the scattered liberated areas were quickly connected into one piece. In order to adapt to the development of the situation, a unified currency was urgently needed to replace the various kinds of currencies in the liberated areas which were difficult to convert. Therefore, on December 1, 1948, the people's bank of China was established in shijiazhuang, hebei province, and unified RMB was issued on the same day. Dong biwu, then chairman of the north China people's government, inscribed the bank name of the people's bank of China.
第一套人民幣是中華人民共和國的開國之寶，是新中國通向世界的首張名片。它象征著一個新時代的開始，是"中國人民從此站起來了"的經(jīng)濟(jì)支柱。第一套人民幣是迄今為止發(fā)行量最少、流通時間最短的一套人民幣;從1948年發(fā)行到1955年退出流通，只有短短的7年時間。因版別眾多、流通時間短，退出流通后，人民銀行回收、銷毀和50多年的自然耗損，存世量非常稀少。隨著歲月的推移和收藏?zé)岬纳郎兀褪?單枚幣也會逐漸成為稀缺的珍品。第一套人民幣在中國錢幣版塊中的龍頭地位不可動搖。隨著歲月的推移和收藏?zé)岬纳郎兀瑔蚊稁乓矊⒊蔀檎洳仄罚钦嬲慕鸩粨Q。
The first set of RMB is the founding treasure of the People's Republic of China and the first business card of new China to the world.
