旅游在英語里有很多不同的說法，像是 trip、travel、journey 和 tour 等等，每個單詞看起來含義都相同，但其實用法不盡相同，到底差在哪里呢？今天就來探討它們之間的意義和差異，看看你適合哪種旅游吧！
1. trip
trip 只能當名詞，一般指短途旅行，通常時間較短，距離也比較近，像是當天來回、短程出差、或是兩天一夜的旅程都能算是這一類。
通常會加上動詞 go on 和 take 來表達短途旅行，如果想表示不同類型的短途旅行，常見的有 road trip（公路旅行）、business trip（出差旅行）、day trip（一日旅行）、round trip（往返旅行）等等。
My father is often away on business trips.
我的爸爸經常出差旅行。
During their holiday they took a boat trip to New Zealand.
在他們度假的期間，他們搭船至新西蘭。
We’re going to go on a trip to Barcelona next year.
我們明年要到巴塞羅那進行短途旅行。
另外，雖然在字典上查得到 trip 也能作動詞，但和旅游一點關系都沒有，是指“絆倒”的意思，別搞錯了喔！
2. journey
journey 是可數名詞，復數為 journeys，表示從一地到另一地的“旅程、長途旅行”，也可以指心靈上的旅程，在表示陸地上的旅行時，一般暗指較為辛苦或帶有自我挑戰性的長途旅行 (long journey) 或短途旅行 (short journey)。
I can’t wait to undertake the epic journey.
我等不及要經歷這場精彩的旅行了！
She likes going on long journeys.
她喜歡去長途旅行。
I was afraid that the long journey would be too much for my mother.
我害怕這趟長途旅行對于我媽媽來說太吃力了。
3. travel
travel 可以作為不同的詞性，當動詞時，表示到一個地方，特別指某個距離較遠的目的地，無論是國內或其他國家皆可。
He travels to Hong Kong a lot.
他經常到香港旅行。
They plan to travel across America next summer.
他們計劃明年夏天完成橫越美國之旅。
I wish I could travel around the world.
我希望我可以環游世界。
當 travel 作為名詞，指一般旅行的行為或活動，此時為不可數名詞。
travel 只有在表示去往遠處的多次或系列旅行，才可以作為復數名詞。
He likes air travel.
他喜歡搭飛機旅行。
Travel nowadays is cheaper than before.
現今旅行比過往還要便宜。
My dream is to write a book about my travels.
我的夢想是把我的旅行寫成一本書。
有些同學會把 travel 和 trip 混淆，但 travel 一般前面不可以加上 your、my、a 等限定詞，只有 trip 才可以。
She bought a box of chocolates on her trip to Belgium. √
She bought a box of chocolates on her travel to Belgium. ×
她在比利時旅行時，買了一盒巧克力。
travel 也可以作形容詞，用來修飾名詞。
I need to call the travel agency.
我得打電話給這間旅行社。
4. tour
tour 作為名詞時，指到一個國家或地方旅游并認識游歷的目的地。
常見的復合名詞有 guided tour（有導游的游覽）、grand tour（“壯游”又稱“游學旅行”）和 package tour（包價旅游）等。
They went on a guided tour of the city.
他們參加了這座城市的導覽旅游。
I’m going to spend two months touring Netherlands.
我要花兩個月在荷蘭旅游。
tour 也能作動詞，與作名詞時同義。
I tour by train with my mom every year.
我每年都和媽媽搭火車去旅游。
They toured the east of China last winter.
他們去年冬天在中國東部旅游。
另外，它也能指到某地瀏覽名勝的旅游或觀光旅游，特別是在假期期間到多個地方參觀，一般多為團體旅游。
